Reference Materials

As students work on the Five Steps to Scientific Inquiry, there are a variety of other supplemental materials provided to them. Access to these materials is available via a sidebar on the right side of their screen called Reference Materials.

Dictionary

Throughout a lesson, various dictionary words are highlighted and access to the definitions is provided both in-context and from the Reference Materials sidebar. Audio controls are provided to allow students to hear the word and definition read aloud.

To access the audio controls for dictionary words:
  1. Click the dictionary word for which you would like to hear audio. You can click the dictionary word under the Dictionary sidebar or within the lesson.
  2. Click the Play icon. The recording will start to play. You can click Pause or Stop during the recording. (Note: If you click Stop during the recording, the recording will start from the beginning the next time you click Play).
